The film is based on Zombies & Cheerleaders by David Light and Joseph Raso. The film stars Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly, which tells the story of Zed, a zombie who loves playing football and Addison, a human who wants to be a cheerleader, the two meet and fall in love, where they must lead their respective groups to coexist with each other. Fifty years ago, in the planned community of Seabrook, an accident at the Seabrook Power Plant resulted in an explosion that turned half of Seabrook's population into brain-eating zombies. Those unaffected built a wall to isolate the zombies from the rest of Seabrook in an area called Zombietown.
